Every month we celebrate our culture heroes. Culture heroes are awarded by their peers during our fortnightly team meeting.
Then, each month on the blog we give them a shoutout and ask them a few questions about what it’s like working remotely for In Marketing We Trust.
Today we are celebrating two awesome team members: Daverick and Lisa for their ability to work ‘independently together’ and their curiosity & creativity, two of our core values.
Our Values
Daverick
Daverick was awarded due to his ability to work ‘independently together’ which means to “be independent in your work but always go beyond to deliver as part of your team”. Daverick was recognised by his teammates for always jumping in to help with all manner of tasks and being consistent, dependable and delivering high-quality work.
What is your best advice for working ‘independently together’ in the workplace (to the point of being recognised for this superpower)?
Although I like working independently, I’ve learned the value of working together. Sharing ideas and asking questions have brought on so many new learnings as well as new and creative solutions for our clients. Never be afraid to ask for help!
Any tips for keeping yourself focused and delivering great results while working from home?
I start my day with an early morning workout. One of the best feelings from doing this is arriving at my desk, ready and awake. It was a bit of a struggle in the beginning but after adapting, it’s done wonders. I definitely don’t miss the days of waiting an hour to fully wake up while starting my morning at work.
Could you briefly describe your main tasks and responsibilities?
I lead SEO strategy, tasks and implementations and help identify opportunities where SEO can be utilised.
How do you manage to juggle so many responsibilities and deadlines?
I’ve become really acquainted with my calendar. As soon as I get the notification of an event, I almost immediately put it into my calendar if it’s not there. I’ve applied this to both my professional and personal life and it’s been really helpful having a visual of my days, weeks and months.
Why do you like working at In Marketing We Trust?
I really love the team and culture here. Everyone has been an absolute pleasure to work with and although we work hard, we don’t forget about having fun and maintaining a work-life balance. It’s really refreshing, especially in this industry.
Lisa
Lisa is being recognised for her curiosity & creativity. Lisa was nominated by multiple teammates “because she is a truly kind person, honest and who is willing to accept if something hasn’t gone the way it was supposed to be. The most important, her capacity of looking for solutions and move forward. Real teamwork player!”
What is your best advice for having curiosity & creativity in the workplace (to the point of being recognised for this superpower)?
Digital marketing is an ever-changing space, so it’s important to be curious and ask questions. This is especially the case if you find yourself working on a new platform e.g., Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or LinkedIn. Reach out to the experts in your team to gather insights and advice.
Any tips for keeping yourself focused and delivering great results while working from home?
Stay focussed on ticking off the most important tasks. Prioritise, but be prepared to re-prioritise as the day goes on! We’re working with clients who have promotions, new pricing, or new messages that sometimes need to be passed on quickly to their consumers or followers, via different marketing channels.
Could you briefly describe your main tasks and responsibilities?
My main tasks involve setting up and running digital marketing campaigns, primarily on the Google Ads platform. We’re also in constant communication with clients on the performance of their campaigns. All while working towards KPIs and the overall growth of a client’s business.
How do you manage to juggle so many responsibilities and deadlines?
I certainly find that writing small lists helps, not a massive list, but an achievable list!
