We had a great time at MeasureCamp Melbourne on Saturday. Besides all the great talks, we also loved giving away free books! As part of our MeasureCamp Melbourne sponsorship this year we decided to give out our favourite books on data for free.

Great book. Reminds us that simple, vivid/humorous, real-life examples are key to easily demonstrating complex mathematical concepts and are the key to knowledge absorption.

What I enjoyed in this book is the fact that while it is a scientific vulgarisation work, they do not shy away from using the correct language to describe each aspect of statistical analysis.

Perhaps the big takeaway is told in the first few chapters of the book in the form of a popular quote: “All models are wrong, some are useful”.
