Open Universities Australia needed a way to measure how its brand and Education & Teaching offering appeared across emerging AI search environments. This included understanding visibility, competitive positioning, and the accuracy of AI-generated responses across platforms used by Australian students.
AI Visibility in the Current MarTech Stack
We designed a structured AI visibility tracking framework using tools they already had in their marketing stack. This included overall AI visibility monitoring and a curated prompt tracking system covering brand, qualification discovery, career pathways, comparisons, study flexibility and cost queries. We also defined strategic KPIs, prompt clusters, and accuracy checks to monitor citations, competitor presence, and potential AI misinformation.
Ongoing Monitoring of Demand Signals
OUA gained a repeatable framework for benchmarking AI visibility across ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews. The model provides ongoing monitoring of brand accuracy, competitive positioning, and high-intent study queries, enabling early identification of visibility gaps and AI-driven demand signals.
